June 15, 2010 Festival of Banners to Brighten up Livingstone Town Centre
The Livingstone Performing Arts Foundation (LiPAF) in conjunction with the Livingstone City Council and the Livingstone Tourism Association (LTA) has introduced an art competition in local schools known as the Festival of Banners. Each school is being provided with ten pieces of cloth one metre long by one half meter wide to create colourful banners based on the theme “Livingstone Proud.”
The works of the young artists will be paraded through town starting at Mukuni Park and ending at the gala opening of the new Livingstone Arts Cafe on July 3, 2010. Here they will be judged, prizes awarded , and the best ones selected for hanging on the light standards in the town centre.
The Festival of Banners will be an annual event aimed at brightening up Zambia’s tourism capital and attracting more visitors to the town centre. Sponsorship for this event is being sought from the LTA members and local business to purchase the banner material, manufacture the banner hangers, and obtain prizes for the winners in several categories. The banner hangers will be retained by LTA for selected uses throughout the year with the approval of the City Council.
LiPAF’s Artistic Director, Marilyn Gregory, says, “The Festival of Banners is a way to nurture the talent of up-and-coming young artists, beautify the town, and provide a colourful welcome to visitors. It will also remind residents why they are proud to live in Livingstone.”

April 30, 2010 Modern Livingstone Town, Zambia
Livingstone has evolved from a dusty frontier village into a smart and relatively modern town. You would be forgiven for thinking you might be driving in a town in South African, with the ever familiar Engen 1Stop or Spar shopping center signs. The Livingstone council has been working hard on their roads too, with the old road to Victoria Falls now a gleaming new tarred road. But don’t get me wrong – the old classic Livingstone is still very much there, and in many ways better than ever – with the revitalization of the old ‘Capitol Theater’ and the Royal Livingstone Golf Club there to remind us of days gone by. It’s always been a busy place, but now it’s added a sense of efficiency to the mix. One thing has never changed though, the Zambian friendly manner and hospitality!

April 7, 2010 Batoka Sky and The Waterfront Campground
The idea of flying over Victoria Falls always amazes me and the guys over at Batoka Sky know how to really give you the best views. With the spray rising and the water roaring the entire experience is captured on video and in photographs.
After a day of sightseeing the visitor got to relax at his campground, The Waterfront, where he was able to snap a series of incredible sunset pictures over the Zambezi river.
All in a days work (um vacation)!

March 29, 2010 Livingstone Royal Golf Club, Zambia
The Royal Livingstone Golf Club was founded in 1908, and has recently been renovated back to it’s former glory – including the 18 hole golf course! Beautifully positioned on the outskirts of Livingstone itself, and under a stand of towering trees, it’s a fantastic place not only to play golf but to have lunch on the veranda with friends and soak up the ambiance!
